About the race
Once the world's richest race ($10M when launched in 1996), still a marquee global stop. Run on Meydan's dirt main track.
Race history
First run in 1996, brainchild of Sheikh Mohammed. The race has produced multiple champions including Cigar (1996), Curlin (2008), Country Grammer (2022). Originally on dirt, switched to synthetic in 2010-2014, back to dirt 2015. Hosts the Dubai World Cup Card — 9 international G1/G2 races on a single Saturday night.

What sharps watch for
- 01
International field — US, Japanese, and European raiders dominate.
- 02
Dirt experience matters; turf-only horses converted for the race rarely succeed.
- 03
Track tends to play fast; pace types do well.

Where to bet the Dubai World Cup
US pari-mutuel wagering happens through licensed operators. TVG (FanDuel-owned) and TwinSpires (Churchill Downs) are the two largest dedicated US racing platforms; both ship win/place/show plus the full exotic ladder (exacta, trifecta, superfecta, daily double, Pick 3/4/6) at the Meydan meeting.
