About the race
Europe's most prestigious turf race — 1½ mi, run in Paris on the first Sunday in October. The undisputed European championship.
Race history
First run in 1920. Multiple-time winners are exceedingly rare — only Treve (2013-2014) and Enable (2017-2018) have won twice in the modern era; no horse has won three. The Arc is THE European championship; the winner is almost always crowned the European Horse of the Year.

What sharps watch for
- 01
Soft / heavy ground is common in October Paris — handicap by ground tolerance, not just raw form.
- 02
Japanese horses have made the Arc a perennial target; multiple narrow defeats have given Japanese racing a fascination with Longchamp.
- 03
3yo fillies have a strong record (Treve, Enable, Solemia, Avilius) — the weight allowance for fillies is meaningful.

Where to bet the Arc
US pari-mutuel wagering happens through licensed operators. TVG (FanDuel-owned) and TwinSpires (Churchill Downs) are the two largest dedicated US racing platforms; both ship win/place/show plus the full exotic ladder (exacta, trifecta, superfecta, daily double, Pick 3/4/6) at the Longchamp / ParisLongchamp meeting.
